Has to be Terminator. Total Recall and The Running man were classics, though. The rest... meh.

My favourites are Terminator, Terminator 2, Total Recall, Predator, True Lies and The Running Man. Not necessarily in that order though.

Best in what way though?

Acting skills? Non-existent in pretty much all of them.

I loved Commando for all the one-liners etc. Remember I said I'd kill you last? I lied......

But I loved Terminator 2 just because it's an excellent film. Terminator was good, but he didn't have the one-liners (well, I'll be back to plod obviously) though did actually seem like a bland machine.

Predator was great, but that was the idea of the film more than anything.

Total Recall, The Running Man, Terminators 1 and 2, True Lies.

He acts like a redwood tree - but who cares?

True Lies, though for Jamie Lee Curtis rather than Arnie.
Terminator 2, he can actually play an unemotional robot fairly well.
Cactus Jack, it's quite funny in slapstick way.

True Lies.
^^ This.

Yes you have JLC dancing aboot in her knickers (even I would do her! hehe) but it is a very entertaining movie (not film) with some great lines. Though with any Arnie film, you do expect him to blow sh!t up in a fairly spectacular fashion or you are disappointed. biggrin

I do have a soft spot for the Running Man though as that was Judas and my first date. cloud9

Exactly right for me too. Most of his films are watchable, and enjoyable (unlike Sea Gull films), but those two stand out as being genuinely good films.

Terminator 2 is my favourite.

Although Last Action Hero is very underrated IMO.

Nothing even comes close. Shame on anyone who hasn't seen it, no other film is funnier. I challenge anyone to watch it when pissed, if you don't laugh I will fellate you.

Pumping Iron.

The bit where he likens bench pressing to having sex all the time.

End of Days is actually good.

The presence of Michael Ironside (who possibly acts with the seminal grace last effected in 'V' back in 1983) undoubtedly catapults 'Recall' to the front of the grid but Commando - supported by antipodean colossus Vernon Wells as Bennett - is Arnie's finest work, eclipsing even Raw Deal which is sheer comedy and also a work of unconstrained genius to boot.

Predator is the best film he's been in but not his best film - Predator was made famous neither by the role of our venerated Austrain Oak nor the fabulous creature but instead - the groundbreaking performances of Duke and Ventura.

Indeed, Duke's pathos eclipses the brilliance of the cast in 'Glengarry, Glen Ross' - it is a known fact that Lemon, Pacino, Spacey et al were screaming at their agents when Predator first exploded into public conscience back in '87.

I have held theatre workshops comparing Olivier's Lear to Duke's Mac and the general consensus is that the brother has it.
