Nintendo DS(i) & Games recommendation Qout it's?

I've never been into the handheld gaming stuff so don't really know much about it. It's my lads birthday in a few weeks, he's 6 and would like a DS, can any of you folks tell me;

. Is a DSi the kiddy, or is a normal DS alright.
2. Would it be suitable for a 6 year old lad
3. What games are good for a racing/football loving 6 year old boy with the attention span of a goldfish?

I have an eight year old that got his 1st DS when he was six. Absolutely loves it. Just recently (on his eighth birthday) we got him the DSi as the DS was well used.

Go for the DSi. Better internet capability, camera and other extra goodies.

google £35 also, there isnt any clones so should be ok,

Ok, cheers Paul but i'm still a little confused, is it an emulator on it's own, or does it enable someone to download homemade games and apps onto the DSi. It all seems to be going over my head.
