I dont think im the first to think this, but is this year going to be hit by the recession, or will the uk continue to give the millions they do every year?

Not saying i wouldnt give money , but with so many million now out of jobs and alot of people feeling such a pinch this year , will cin contiue to raise alot of money still?

Given that last year, just after all the banks had fallen over they still managed to break the record, I'd guess they will again make more than ever.

Good on 'em.

With a bit of luck they'll soon get enough to get the poor bears eye seen to properly too. biggrin

So the radio 2 auction for "things money can't buy" has just ended at £458k - last year it was half a mmilion, so that is almost 10% down - a portent of things to come maybe ?

Not that I could afford any of them but the auction items were not as exciting as last year. If only Bernie had offered an all expenses VIP trip to the British GP again...............

Listening at the moment, the prize sounds amazing but sadly my max bid was about £299 and it's gone a bit higher than that frown

£40k was winning bid, IIRC £33k was lowest winner.

If only I had a lot of money with enough to spare. Sounds like a fantastic four days and one of the best charidee prizes I have seen for ages, particularly compared with some of the lots El Tel had up for grabs.
