I got one of these from Merlin. Well impressed with the quality of the stand.

Great workstand, I got mine from Ribble for £54. I also bought this handlebar stay too, stops them flapping around.http://www.merlincycles.co.uk/bicycle-stands-works...

Conveniently timed thread, I've been umming and ahhing about making one but the clamp part is a bit tricky and the one linked to is bloody cheap anyway. Any thoughts on this one though:

85p cheaper , steel construction and possibly a handy tool shelf thing.
Cheers,
Rob

I originally bought that exact stand from Decathlon for ~ £45. It's a rather hefty stand, but the PITA factor was the clamp, when the bike was on it, it rotated. So I took it back and got a full refund.
The other stand has a teethed section which stops the clamp rotating. Plus because I have to cart it up and down several flights of stairs, the foldability is perfect for me.

That does look hugely tempting as a set. May have to invest - I figure it's cheaper than going back to the bike shop next time something needs doing.http://www.merlincycles.co.uk/bicycle-stands-works...

I've got that one, use it after most MTB rides so I can wash down my bike and easy alter positions to work on Road bike.... I actually like the grip construction and the ability to adjust in ever direction... never had an issue with movement either..http://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/productdetail.asp?pr...
