If so, how do you get your places rented? I'm trying to rent a house in Hampshire and the estate agents I contact are abysmal - hardly ever answering emails, phonecalls etc. I can't believe they are doing their client landlords any favours at all as one of them in particular has peed me off to such a point that I don't even look at any houses they have for rental.
So do you guys use a website, newspaper or suchlike to advertise your properties - and can you recommend one to me so I can find a chuffing house?!
Many thanks

I use local agents lo let mine. From my point of view, they are as bad as you find them. Always try local papers first, but that seems to attract nuttersfrown

I used a two-man band who put a leaflet through the door. They were brilliant, found several prospects, did all the viewings, legal stuff, helped me choose the final tenant - for just an introduction fee. I'd have no hesitation in recommending them, but they're in Essex.

They used Rightmove; which is trade only.

Same as me. I've dealt with the same (very small) agents for ages. I know all 4 members of staff really well now & although I'm not even a managed let customer they sort out gas certs etc. Only charge 1 months rent & no charge for re-sign. One tenant left early (mutual) as she had been made redundant & they didn't charge me anything to find a new tenant. They are proper sales people & get on the phone & chase leads up. I have tried to use a big named agent, but found it to be spookily the polar opposite.

I thought there was an outfit you could pay to advertise with & they would give you exposure onto Rightmove?

Sorry, misread original post, you're looking to rent, try the gumtree website as lots of private landlords advertise there.

No, no, no, try either your local rag, or a letting agent that either only charges you when they find you a tenant. or that charges your prospective tenant and not you.

He IS the tenant, or prospective tenant anyway, he's looking to rent.
