It's all very well apologising to child migrants from half a century ago when Winky was in short trousers but how about apologising to 60 millions modern Britons whose economy he wrecked?

He's such a kind man. It's nice to see someone putting right what was wrong.

Never quite seen the the point of apologising for something that someone did.

Popularity Appeal n of a long list and not over yet.

He wants somebody other than his wife to be able to tolerate his presence without revulsion. Sad really.

An apology from him is irrelevant, but to read into the stories of how those kids were treated both by the system, and those charged with their care, is shocking.

In most cases, official indifference meant that none of those 7,000 were ever checked after they arrived at their assigned destinations. Many simply became white slaves.

Typical. Apologises for stuff done a long time ago, rather than present day mistakes that are as a direct result of labour's governance.
In 40 years time will there be a labour PM apologising for Winky's disasterous stewardship of the country?

Think we should compile a list of everything winky's appologised for events that had taken place before 1997 and everything he's appologised for after 1997 (please expand with other examples)

Pre 1997

Slavery
Exporting Children
Bombing Germany during WWII
The homophobic treatment of Alan Turing
Falklands war
Treatment of deserters in WWI

I think history will try and avoid writing about him, and the last 12 years of Labour rule.

Anything other than the words
"Remember never to let jumped Unionistas and Champagne Socialists in charge of the country. They will fk it while fking you"

Dear Austrian Refugees

It is my humbel dutie to apolgise to you for shipping all of you off to Austria just after the end of teh war.
It wasn't really my fault (I blame Mrs Thatcher and Hitler myself)

Unfortunately, due to our new crackdown on immigrants, your not welcome back either.

All the best

Apologetic Gordo.

PS - excuse the speeling. My glass eye is at the menders.

You're kidding me, aren't you?

He really apologised for actions taken in defence of Britain and her Empire?

I'm sure there was a time when that would be considered treasonous behaviour.

You can apologise without making excuses.

Along the lines of a "Sorry we flattened your cities, but you bloody well deserved it" sort of way.

and living in sunny aussie instead of this st hole they should be happy..

""The next stage will be consultation with the Child Migrants Trust and others on the actual form and wording of that apology." "

wouldnt it be cheaper and better to offer them a one time only one way ticket back if they want it rather then a committee sepnds weeks deciding what letter to write..

I would like an apology from Gordo the Clown for being the utter cretin that he is, and for overtaxing us and ruining the economy
