Very worrying .

Maybe we all start up a petition to keep Brunters going .

I'm sure there will more support to cancel out the negativety from a few locals , altough I can understand their plight ,but Brunters and assosiated noises were probably there before them....??

Just my tuppence worth.

Many moons ago, the Aerodrome I worked at faced closure due to noise related issues similar to the ones at Brunters.
The canny airfield operator submitted a planning application to convert the airfield into a permanant static traveller site, citing the loss of revenue as an active airfield as the reason for the change of use. The noise abatement vigilanties were practically physically threatened by the rest of the locals to withdraw their petition.
Its still an Aerodromesmile

I think the Government are actively seeking sites for travellers at the moment arn`t they? wink

Damn it. I wonder how many of those people lived there before it was a base. I bet most of them bought the houses cheaper than usual due to the noise then complain about the noise when they live there.

Does a public hearing cost more or less to administer than 87 pairs of ear defenders, I wonder...

Tossers, I'd love to know how long the people that are complaining have lived there. I can hear the testing that happens at TRL on a good day from my house that's around a mile away and I couldn't care less it was there a long time before me.

More to the point, the people bought those houses in the knowledge that vehicle activities took place...

If the owners of the air field have moved the goal posts from what was allowed, to what is not allowed, (Which the article seems to say), then they have every right to complain about it.

Good luck to them.

I don't think it's such a good idea to invite travellers onto your site really...can't see that happening.

We've just been banned from Kemble airfield a few weeks ago. Someone who lives 10 feet from the airfield moaned to the council about us. The council was waiting for us about 8 am. Got told to pack up. We all pass the noise test at combe!! I think this person has got an on going thing with Kemble and he just happened to pick on us that day. I mean they do alot of F1 testing there and all the jets and jumbo's are louder than a few scoobys!!
