The MX5 Westfield
Discussion
Only review I have ever read wasn't that geat, said the MX5 was actually better.
Does anyone else have any experience of them?
I'm getting itcy feet with my Eunos Turbo at the moment even though I have a forged engine being built to up the power. I'm wondering if installing the new engine and breaking my car into a Westfield kit would be a good idea? I'm put off by the one poor review...
p.s. itd be about 330bhp engine..

Better in what way, there must have been some details. It seems unlikely that a kit car enthusiast would prefer the donor car, but maybe the writer wasn't an enthusiast? Where was the article published?Does anyone else have any experience of them?

It would be quite a lot lighter so would be faster and handle better.
Neither part of this statement stands up to scrutiny.
It will certainly be quicker (acceleration) in the lower part of the speed range (before the Westfield's barn-door aerodynamics kick in), but I'm willing to bet that top speed and top-end acceleration will be worse, and there's a lot more to handling than light weight...
