Girls in lack of common sense shocker

Just been downstairs into the lounge and saw what looked like the oven on fire (white 'smoke' everywhere)and my two female flatmates just sat there talking calm as anything. I walked through the haze and they have 4 pans of water on the hob boiling away on full heat because they are cold.

I asked them had they though about where the water is going to go once it cools down but they didn't believe that the steam will make everything wet, including the clothes they have put out to dry in the hall.

This is far from the only stupid thing they have done.

Find another place to live quickly or make sure all your stuff is insured. They sound like a liability.

That was their heating system? to form a small tropical microclimate in the kitchen?

In halls last year it was a male who caused the fire brigade to be called out all three times (three different guys too). Each time full breathing apparatus, two fire engines trooping into our house. I'm sure there are just as many male idiots as there are female. Ooh.

I would be a bit desperate if I had to try it on with one of them.....not saying I wouldn't though, but I would have to be desperate!

Woody Allen used to do a skit about something similar, in an effort to heat up a freezing hotel room he put the shower on hot in the bathroom, which caused steam and a cloud, that then met the cold front from the bedroom and it started to rain.

Once or twice in the past when I wanted to warm the house up quickly I put the gas rings on - but it never occured to me to put pans of water on them...





Mind you...


...if you have an induction hob then you'd HAVE to do it otherwise nothing would heat up...
