Any benefit to putting PS2 on network??

Right, I'm just moving my living room about, and just spotted an ethernet port on the back of my PS2 slim. I need to run a cable to link my Xbox to my Router (They currently sit next to each other but the Router staying where it is and the Xbox is going with the TV) so I could run one for the PS2 while I'm at it, but is it worth it? What can I do with a PS2 connected to the network/internet?
