Washing Machine Repairs?

Anyone have any experience of Washing machine repairs?

We have an 8 yr old Bosch. It has suddenly decided that it doesn't want to spin..at all!

It will fill up with water and sit there and then after a suitable time drains away.

I can hear the odd clicking noise, I am guessing it's a solenoid telling the motor to change direction etc.


Does this sound like the motor has gone bang? If so, is it easy enough to swap out? I am a reasonable spanner man.

It could well be that the separate brushes on the motor used for the fast spin have gone. Easy enough to change.
