Hi all

I had my car broken in to last night and the thieves stole my TomTom from the glovebox. Does anyone know if I can inform TomTom so they can block the device if it is connected to the internet?

PS - if anyone is offered a cheap TomTom in Coventry by some scruffy scum bag of a kid then let me know so I can teach the little tw4t a lesson.

Very much doubt it. The rule is that if you have a boot which is not accessable from inside the car and without keys drop it in the boot otherwise take it indoors as gloveboxes are a piece of piss to break open.

Teach yourself a lesson and chalk it up to experience. Don't leave Sat Navs in cars.

.......and wipe off the marks on the windscreen that the sucker pad makes. Red rag to a bull to your average scroat. They'll break in on the strength of the marks and even if they find nothing they've still caused £100's of damage.

But most importantly clean the window every time you remove the mount, whether you can see a mark or not. Even if you cannot see a visible mark when you remove the mount before you exit the car (when you've cleared the screen, and everything is warm and dry) that does not mean that a circle won't appear on your window during the night when it mists up in the winter chill.

Also consider clearing all of the rubbish out of your glove box and leaving the lid open for any possible theives to see that it is empty.

No use to the OP I am afraid, and you have my sympathy - In most cases, the Nav will be a minor cost compared to replacing the window/lock/glovebox/damaged panels

Maybe, but I doubt it. When I got my Ipod nicked I was told there is some website that if you put the security code in, when it gets stolen all you do is log on and block it. You might be able to do it with a Tom Tom.

A link to the website I'm speaking about used to be on the car phone warehouses website.
