As I understand it they escaped from the police (in a stolen dutch car) during a car chase and crashed 30 mins later all by themselves. Its a hazard of the job I guess.

Forget the fact they're dead for a second, they are, quite smply, very thick. Now I don't know how much cash is typically in a cash machine - let me have a guess and say, I don't know, £20k (equivalent). There's 5 of 'em so that's £4k each. Now if they get caught (and they usually do) they'll spend, say, 5 years in the nick. That equates to about £800 per year per person. They could earn twenty times that even on benefits. Hence my original point - Darwinism in action.

Here's the BBC news report of it. Now the video looks to me like the car is a VW Beetle. If I'm correct, a couple of questions come to mind:

1) How the hell did they expect to get five adults plus a cash machine into a Beetle?

2) What sort of 'getaway car' is that anyway?

As such, they're rubbish criminals!

Nope not a beetle as the car in the video has 4 doors and a boot, looks more like a small / medium sized saloon focus or jetta I would say.

Steal, try get away driving like morons, and crash fatally. Hardly a surprise. They choose to take the risks and reap the rewards or otherwise.

There are plenty of people who don't deserve to die, yet do. I'll save my sympathy for them.
