Hi, i've searched for a post on this subject, that was posted in the last few weeks. I have a few items of gold for sale, and was wondering the best place to sell it. If anyone has any recomendations, then let me know. I've been credit crunched!

Thanks

I dimly recall seeing an ad in the classifieds of the local paper a few years back, but since then, I don't think I've seen a single advert anywhere from people buying gold. Not a one.

Guess the market dried up.

Local jewellers ?

Oh just got rid of some broken necklaces/bracelets etc this way - £190 the richer afterwards.

Rule of thumb. If it's a website like any of the above, you will be paid allot less than it's worth.

Easy, send it to me, I'll assess it and send you a cheque for what I think it's worth... yes

I avoid the overheads of a website allowing me to give you the best price on your unwanted gold!

You might notice that these people (who I have used) actually list prices!

Wonder why they all don't ?

FYI

http://www.monsterpriceforgold.com and
http://www.postgoldforcash.com

Both very transparent about what they pay their customers. I have used PGFC and am looking into using monster to help raise some funds for a holiday. You never know!

You'll need to go some, the melting point of gold (pure) is 1063c. Which is probably a bit on the high side for a bit of DIY smelting. Though a couple of chaps in West Kingsdown allegedly mastered the technique in late '83/early '84... whistle

I think this was on watchdog or somthing, these postal companies much offer less that whats it worth so make sure you refuse their first offer and even their second offer they should fold and offer more cash.
