Making the Xbox work on hotel TV... HELP

Hi folks
I've arrived at a hotel in Swansea and i've brought my xbox with me to try and avoid spending ALL my time in the hotel bar.
Anyway, i'm stuck here all week and the xbox does not work on the telly.
So i can't play MW2 or Forza! I've plugged it into the scart, but i keep getting the menu instead of Xbox each time i press the "menu" button. Previous TV's in hotels all usually default to scart when you press "menu"...
It's a Phillips TV system using 1HE AB TV. I know this is a mega long-shot, but can anyone help?

Is there an input select button?
Usually looks like a circle with an arrow going into or out of it?
If so press that to cycle inputs until it says scart or av or thereabouts.
Also, I don't have an xbox, but is it set to anything like 1080p-only-on-hdmi? If so you might need to do something like hold down the On button until it resets the video config (that's what you do with a ps3 anyway, maybe similar on 360)

Also on bottom left look for the A/CH button (it maybe has this) - this allows you to switch between normal channels and AV too...

In the bottom row, there is no A/CH button.... Just a teletext and a widescreen button. 0 doesn't work either! So, either the reset procedure for the xbox has not worked (unlikely, i've done this afew times before) or it's some odd combination to press to switch to AV
Hotel staff tell me it's against "Health & Safety Rules" to plug anything into my TV, as i've not PAT testing it! Stupid feckers

Well this one is easy enough to deal with, at least. Simply peel a PAT sticker off the plug to another appliance in your room, and stick it on your power cord plug. Tell them that last time you stayed here it was tested for you. Most hotels have special TV's that are programmed with a special master remote control, where they proceed to block most of the functionality that a guest might want to use. Unfortunately the guests remote is not the master remote.
You could try googling for that particular tv/remote, as there are sometimes key sequences that may override the setting you want.
Personally i'd go down to the bar have a beer jd/coke and stare at the barmaids best assets.

Mine gets moved around all the time - either from the living room to the bedroom, or my house to mates houses. It even made it to Norway in my hold luggage without any RROD (although I couldn't use it there for some reaason, it wouldn't work with the plug adapter. Fail.).
It's RROD'd once, and that was inexplicably just after I started playing Vegas 2 for the first time.
