Just go in as you would any car purchase, take it for a test drive before handing over any money.
If they say 'you bid to buy not test drive' you can tell them that you are only testing it to make sure their description is accurate, as long as it is they have nothing to worry about, it will be a nice easy sale.

If you have the slightest niggle it is not perfect walk away. One negative on ebay surely outweighs £26,500.00?? wink

Sounds like a pretty good buy if it all checks out.

Positive Mental Attitude yes

Best of luck to the OP. Look forward to hearing your experience, and seeing some shots of the car. One of these is very much near the top of my next car shopping list, however I've no delusions of being able to afford/warrant the outlay or depreciation on a nearly new car, so I'm very interested to hear the experiences of people that have owned the cars as they get more miles and get older - I like to maintain a positive outlook and ignore the BS regurgitated by people that haven't owned one, and begin every piece of advice with "Apparently ...."

As stated, you should walk away if all is not right - you're entitlied to do so with a mis-described ebay item.

There is no reason why it shouldn't be a great buy that was probably 3k off of a private sale.

In my opinion if it is to good to be true it usually is!

The seller will know how much this is worth and unless there is some underlying issue I cannot see why anyone would sell at such a loss, I'm sure a dealer would have given him that much for it!

I paid £27.7k for a 55 plate one with 29k on the clock 5 months ago. So not that much difference. Warranty, etc, etc.

£26.5k for an 05 plate is about right really....

As long as it drives okay and the BMW warranty checks out, then it should be a decentbuy?

Good luck Darron. Remember everyone, without a warranty you could end up spending more than the purchase price on repairs!
