clutch fluid seals
Discussion
i filled up the clutch fluid a few days ago and got the clutch biting again and today i spent 20 mins with the engine running putting it in and out of gear when i checked the clutch fluid level after it was still full 1 of the seals must be gone because there was no fluid in it before do i need to drive the car to make it leak or use the clutch or does it just leak while its standing ? prehaps it leaks slowly any ideas ?
A few things spring to mind...
Why put it in and out of gear whilst stationary - the gearbox doesn't use clutch fluid.
Is there any black bits in the new fluid? That would suggest a seal.
Is there a wet patch in the car?
Regardless though you just need to drive it to a garage cos it won't fix itself. If it's emptied once then you can be sure it will go again but the time leaving you stranded.

cheers just a waiting game now
As games go, waiting to be stranded somewhere ranks somewhere between Russian roulette and knock down Ginger on a Southwark housing estate. I would take gazzab's advice and drive it to a garage to have it fixed. Most likely the slave seal gone, cost circa £500 to fix. Good luck!
right the clutch fluid has gone i found a small patch of sumthing under the car but it was just infront of the rear wheels it wasnt oil i dont think and the drivers footwell is wet especially on the right hand side a few inches up the side so it looks like master cylinder seals ? was that patch on the ground the diff leaking ? oh not another thing !
Yes that sounds like the master cylinder. Most people recommend you change the whole thing rather than buy a seal kit, since you have to take it out anyway and they're quite cheap. Access is from the black cover - the reservoir sits on top of it. A bit fiddly to get at the bolts but DIYable.
Sounds like the diff is leaking. Quite common for them to 'weep' but that doesn't mean you should. Depends how much diff oil you found on the floor. A puddle means it needs The casing removed and resealing, a few drips can be ignored/monitored..

the mechanic that said this is a bmw guy he said he would be able 2 do tvrs, at sebring a few miles away also they do tvrs with a guy who has 10 years working with tvrs but they wanted 1100 to change a clutch ! so il get the bits from sebring and see how this other guy gets on with a tvr do you advise i stick to a tvr garage/indy ?

Its up to you ! I would but maybe I am brainwashed !
Cerbs arent complex as such but they are 'difficult' beasts to work on. Knowing how to do things, how to diagnose and having the experience counts for a lot in my opinion.
I would second this, they are not complexs beasts but very quirky and experience pays for itself in the long run in saved labour times.Cerbs arent complex as such but they are 'difficult' beasts to work on.
