Fuel duty cut

Wonderful of the government to give us a temporary cut in fuel duty. Good of them to be so honest about it as well. Temporary duty cut until: June. Next general election due: May. Notice a pattern? The laughable thing is that the general public will fall for it. They always do. Why do I have to live in a country so full of complete gimps?

I seem to remember during the fuel blockades we were told that everyone was wrong to try to force the governments hand, they wouldn't do anything about it until budget time. I expect you're as shocked as I am that they've ended up doing nothing at all. (I.e. not very shocked at all.) Peter Humphries (and a green V8S)

I agree - but then if I can fill up my car at 73.9p a litre I'm a happy girl - we'll all fall for it come election time but then I'm tempted not to bother putting my cross in the box they are all as bad as one another do you really think the others will come in a drop fuel duty - we can dream.

I think we should have an extra box on the ballot for "None of the above". If the majority of people vote for it, they have to rerun the election. A parties manifesto should also be legally binding. If they break a promise, the voters should be able to sue the bastards. James

It would seem their plan has worked then, they force the price up from 71.9p to 79.9p and then people are happy when it "comes down" to 73.9p Do you reslise that is still shed loads of money??
