MW2 graphics problem ps3

Hi guys,

Hoping someone has read about or could shed some light on my issue.

Last night I fired up the ps3 as usual, and went online, about 5 mins in its started artifacting all over the screen (which for those that don't know is king of flickering and rendering stufff that isn't there and such)..

I pulled the console out and put it on the side as I thought it might be overheating, but it still did it?

I'll try again after work but does anybody have any ideas?

Sounds like a GPU error. If it is doing it straight from cold, then it sounds terminal.

Get it sent off for a replacement.

EDIT: Just as an off chance, try rolling back to a previous update or any previos console settings that you know worked.

As an off chance, do you have any little games installed onto your Hard Drive? Do you still get artifacts when playing these? If not, then it could possibly be a problem with the disc reader. Does it still do it when playing a DVD or BluRay movie? Something like the optic lense could be kaput, resulting in the rendering information to be corrupted as it is put onto your screen, causing the artifacts.

For 3d graphics a dodgy blu-ray would cause the game to error, the data files have error detection. Artefacts are likely caused by a malfunctioning GPU.

I should note that is was fine before the latest update..

How do I roll back to previous update?

I'll try it with other games tonight.. In terms of sending it off, where do they go? And if its over a year am I likley to get done £££?

Yes, sorry about that. I actually meant to say general errors, like slow loading or blurry/missing textures. Anything like that could be the cause of a fauly drive or disc.

Either way, it does sound like the most likely cause is the GPU.
