Intermittant start????

Good morning all!

I have a problem with my 2002 E46 M3 starting occasionally..

90% of the time it will start first time, however occassionally it wont start, this is only when the car is unlocked remotely. I then have to get out of the car, lock it, and unlock it by inserting the key in the drivers door and unlocking it manually, my guess is that the key fob is not deactivating the immobilisor on the car...


Has anyone else suffered the same problem, and if so how would I go about fixing it?

I had one do the same. Have you tried taking the key out of the ignition and reinserting?
Could be the EWS ring around the barrel.
Try a substitue key for a few weeks to rule that out.
