Hardwood internal doors.

Im looking at replacing the god awful internal doors in my flat with something a bit better and decided on 4 panel hardwood doors.

Saw this at B&Q:

Does anyone know if its a solid door or a veneer/mdf door with a small amount of oak in it?

Does anyone know of anywhere that I can get some decnet doors at a resonable price if they are not what they suggest they are? As they seem very cheap.

I think it is a veneer door.

I'm reading your post because we are probably having some oak doors fitted at home quite soon.

That is going to be a veneer that comes ready for you to finish via stain or oil etc .

99.something% sure that will be a veneer doors. I would expect a solid Oak internal panel door to be at least a couple of hundred quid.

When I was building my house I bought 6 solid Ash doors, brand new, on ebay for £75 plus delivery. I had the luxury of being able to make my door openings fit the size of the doors though!

I've stained them and they look great.

One more tip, don't buy cheap ironmongery for your nice new doors!

We've just fitted the Langdale 3 panel ones (supplied through our builder) and we're really pleased with them, though they are veneer:

Costs are not dissimilar to the B&Q ones, but really stunning looking when they are on.
