Goodwood track today.

Passing by the track today - looked like McLaren/ Mercedes jolly boys outing day! A load of them "playing" with an SLR. Leaving the pits they started a wheel spin which lasted until the pit lane exit - doing around 65mph and then pulling onto the track. I saw them all having a go, about 10 times. must have gone through a full set of rear tyres. All dressed in full race gear. Not a bad job I would say.
If you go down there, worth looking at the tyre marks which last the whole length of the pit lane. Car sounded fantastic.

Anyone know what the day was? Factory day out? Driver training?

It was a Vodaphone day. Lewis Hamilton and Gary Paffet were giving hot laps in AMG mercs (Gary) and Mclaren SLRs (Lewis) to various competition winners.. Gary got the prize for the longest burnout.. whole length of the pit lane in a C63 estate.

....that would explain it! The drivers did seem to know what they were doing! Long live Goodwood! - where else can you "drop in" - free, and just happen to see Lewis doing multiple burnouts in an SLR from 10 feet away.........? Happens everyday!
