I had a flat battery this morning (haven't used it for a while and stupidly didn't have the trickle charger on it). I put a battery charger on it and, taking advice from my other half's old man, left it on when I tried to start it again - big mistake!! When I turned the engine the wipers fired into action and both doors opened. Now the problem is that I can't close the doors - there's no catch at all, they just bounce of the rubber seals. Also I can't open the boot. My question is - have I blown a fuse controlling the central locking? I know the emergency way into the boot, but is there another route being as I've got access into the main car? It's a 2001 4.5 by the way.

Many thanks, James.

try checking the 100 amp fuse, this can cause multiple electrical problems and a good place to start. not sure where its located on the cerb though

I don't think it will be 100amp fuse. Have you tried the alarm fob? Otherwise use emergency way in as you may have a frazzled door control box. Or one that needs unplugging and replugging. Also try fully charging battery.

Arda - who is it you're sending the box to? Can you let me know if you get sorted, cost etc.

Cheers, James

Nothing more than a little banter smile
Get someone to read the above back to you, without full stops etc ......... then think of Stacey off the X factor.
You also have to factor in, my sense of humour mixed with a large glass of wine = poor humour biggrin

biglaugh you gotta love those electrics. I wouldn't start worrying until you hear a 'boing' and a slice of toast fires out of the cd player.

All fixed - just had to pull the power lead to the doors/windows control box for 30 seconds as suggested by Andy at APM.

Thanks Andy, you're a star.
