I was looking through an old work diary from early last year. A colleague and myself went down to stranraer, work related. On the way back we decided to take a different route (we were heading back renfrewshire way). Purely by accident we stumbled across a fantastic driving road. I had it all to myself and the sun was splitting the trees.

I scribbled what i knew about it in my diary - sorry if it doesn't make sense:

"PG7 New Galloway
A712 Queens way
Through Dalmellington
Driving road taking you through stranraer"

That's all i have

Through Galloway Forest?

Dalmellington is the A713 so I imagine you must have joined it at some point.

That looks and sounds very familiar, thanks.

My friend did video it on my old phone but it got deleted by accident. Such a shame as it made good viewing

I'm local to the area - although I've never been the forest route, the A713 from Dalmellington to Castle Douglas is quite nice. Some twisty parts and some nice open sections.

DG7 is on the A713.

Maybe you're suffering from Gordon Brown syndrome when reading PG7. wink

HAHA! Yes.

I wrote it while driving home and we tried to remember places and postcodes we passed.
Sounds really cheesy but we were both caught up in the drive and never thought about noting it down until it was passed
