Why I keep harping on about 1-7/8 headers!

"Total gain for headers and dyno tune: 50rwhp/42rwtq
Hats off to American Racing Headers for making an outstanding product. The 1 7/8" headers lose nothing to 1 3/4" headers down low, but gain at higher rpm. On a hotter 6.2L G8 GXP, the gains would be even larger."

But thats with the headers AND a re-tune ? It also says it would be better on a 6.2 higher up the rev range.
Does this mean it may not benefit 5.7 or 6.0 owners by much ?? Don't know myself - just playing devils advocat.
Agree its still a good result by changing the zorst and giving it a tune.

Sadly not due to steering on the other side. The only ones I know of in that size are Difilippo for the Holden. A few of us got them from there, I think Rapid are dealers for them, but I got mine direct.http://americanracingheaders.com/G8_Catalog.htm
Well there are other Oz makes, but thats the best brand by all accounts. You might be able to just get the headers and have the rest of the exhaust made up here in 3" On the LS3 you will almost certainly gain a fair amount.

I think someone else on here has them. But they are not 1-7/8 so personally I wouldnt bother.
Do you want 450rwhp with NA or FI?
What engine do you have?
If you want FI then you can pretty much bolt on a blower and have your goal.
NA you might need to look at a stroker, though you should meet your goal with heads and a stout cam.
It therefore also depends on what sort of driveability you are after. A stroker will drive nice with none of the issues that blowers have.

And what issues are they then apart from blowing up when not built properly... Only issue I can think of is to much torque low down which causes embarrising wheelspins and tailslides off roundabouts... Do you want 450rwhp with NA or FI?
