Hi All (first post hello! rotate )

I've just had my Z4 fail it's MOT for broken rear coil...so I've had it replaced from an independent (BMW's own prices were 2-3 times as much) the only issue is that the independent didn't have the equipment available to do a rear wheel alignment...

so before I start phoning round to get some prices I wondered is do I actually need it doing?

would you expect the wheels to be out of line after a replaced coil spring?

Cheers!

Looking at this your alignment shouldn't have been touched.

Does she still steer straight when you run along the crown of the road with your hands off the wheel?

That's great, thanks for that link!

Yeah it seems to run fairly true, however I have noticed it doesn't seem to feel as planted as it used to when I am taking some corners at speed. In the past couple of weeks I've replaced all 4 tyres and the rear coils....so I am guessing I may have just got used to the handling prior to the changes and what I am noticing now is how it's supposed to feel.

If the alignment is out am I likely to see uneven wear? I could leave it for a few weeks and see if the tyres are looking even across the tread.

Cheers!
