t! The met offices highest level warning! Up to 250mm!! of rain for Cumbria. Not good on top of the already saturated ground

The Met Office were telling us the last few days that we were supposed to get that here in the south west. Looks like the weather system has moved northwards. We should be ok.

I live in Cumbria (near Windermere) and it is a bit wet at the minute, the rivers and streams are really high, its been worse though, will see what the next couple of days brings, can't wait

Had some light drizzle today in Wigan. Been hammering down though this past week.

I'm in Millom in South Cumbria. It poured down at about 4am today, and again this afternoon. Another downpour is forecast for about midnight. I it's as bad on Friday, when I've got to spend an hour or so stood outside in a suit.

I think I'll be catching the P&O ferry to work at this rate.

Inlaws have been staying in a holiday cottage in a little village north of Kendal (Bowston I think). They have left the village a ady early as the River Kent has burst its banks and the village is flooded! luckily they have an XC60 so they drove out before it got too deep! as apparantly it is now too deep to leave!

All I have had is gales and rain all day today. When the tide came in on the Solway all it brought was more crap weather. All the rivers are pretty full and the ground hasnt dried out in over a month. Its not gonna be a pretty outcome.

It certainly pissed down from about 9PM last night until 3PM today, with strong winds, just getting stronger. Lots of localised flooding around west Cumbria, its started drizzling again, and more rain is forecast.

Its been worse....
