My trusty 26" Panny CRT TV is being retired.

I would love a 50" Kuro, but money, space & swmbo prevent.
So with about £600, 13 feet viewing distance, mainly SD, DVD + a bit of HD (Virgin Media), I have been leaning toward one of the panny 42" plasmas (wife wants a 37" though).
Is there anything else I should consider?

TIA

I was looking at one of our shop displays earlier, we have a wall of Pannys, S10 G10 X10 V10, they are all supplied from a sky HD box via a big ol HDMI splitter box. I have to say that i was suprised at the difference in picture quality, the V10 (which is the most expensive) looked dark and murky almost out of focus really, i couldnt see a difference between the S10 and X10 but both of theses had the whiter whites and the G10 had the blackest blacks but the whites where somewhat 'sparkly' and a little orange. Out of what i saw today i would have proberbly gone for the S10 and it was one of the cheapest ones there!
But and yes i know this will cause controversy and yes it is out of the pricerange listed here but there was also a Samsung 8000 series plasma that blew all of them out of the water, i really had to check the tech spec of it because to me the whites where actually white, i actually thoiught it was an LCD, the only thing that let it down was the black level scaling, basically anything that was suppost to be remotly dark was BLACK, but im sure if i could have found the remote control for it I could have tweaked that out.

Waiting for the flames wink
