New HDD - can i use the old enclosure?

Hi all

I have received a 120GB xbox HDD today from a seller on ebay, sold as he'd bought an upgrade to the new 250GB

My data is copying over now using the MS transfer kit. The only snag is that the new drive came in a black plastic enclosure, but mine is the grey colour. Offering it up it will look pants!

If i switch the enclosure around so i have the 120gb in the grey enclosure, will that cause alarms to ring in MS HQ and get me banned from live?

I wouldn't think so, but you can never be sure, personally I wouldn't risk it for the sake of asthetics.

Yes you can. I've done it. 120GB in a 20GB enclosure .

And, obviously, a 20GB in a 120 enclosure which'll annoy someone.

Sweet. I'm not worried about the 20GB drive in the 120GB enclosure as i'm keeping it as a backup
