Discussion
Another damaged car for sale, our cars are getting rarer by the day. Anybody know who's it is?

You would have thought they could have found a matching wheel!

My `guesstimate` based on the recent repair to my car - and providing the rear clam was repaired rather than replaced would be as follows:
Market value of a 3R in good condition at this mileage in a private sale - say £23K. Then for a `proper` repair (no filler - all feathered in GRP) and paint and a new wheel, say £6K. Making £17K. Then say take off about 20% for the Cat C leaves it at about £14K rather than £20K......

A quick scan of classifieds suggests that a 2004 3R is more in the £30K region Bob?Market value of a 3R in good condition at this mileage in a private sale - say £23K.

23k for a 3r lol
this time of year see's a slight dip but 23k and every one would be buying them
dealers cars are 30k
private ones are 27k and will take offers at this time of year,
But come spring when none are available again and prices will be firm 28k.
I have watched these cars for a few years now and in the summer there are none for sale, so you have to pay the going rate or go with out.

Well my 3R was £25K earlier this year - see the above post. In the classified section the two 3Rs which have recently sold (privately) were advertised at £24.5 and £26.5K and both were lower mileage/better condition than the damaged car (when it is repaired). I don`t know for sure but I`d guess both went for less than the asking price.this time of year see's a slight dip but 23k and every one would be buying them

I wonder why it has a different nearside rear wheel on it? Damage appears to be on other side. Can't imagine they would have swapped just for the photo.
Yes, they do things like that. I imagine the original wheel was completely w
kered on impact.Wonder how straight the chassis is?
Just to chip in here, BobE's is a 6 speed and has TDS, as he says, it has a lot of the jobs/mods done that most owners would do.
As you may have guessed, it was my car, and it was sold for what I thought was sensible money, a lot of cars stay on the classifieds for ever, ( you work it out why ).
As for the cat "c" one on the classifieds, it's expensive for what it is, needs between 5-8K worth of work done just to bring it back up to scratch, but it will always be a cat"c".
If you can live with that, and you can get the repairs done for a lot less, then maybe it's worth considering.

I like the way they say M400 intercooler. That'll be the same intercooler as every other car with a standard one then!"Well my 3R was £25K earlier this year - see the above post"
That is not 23k is it :-)
I bought the 26.5k one
the 24.5k one did not have a TDS and the seller needed a quick sale hence he dropped the price and it sold as soon as he did.
There are only 4 3R's for sale atm the cheapest being 27k with the other 3 29+k
23k is a joke , sorry, and come summer you pay the price or go with out like I say.
