I am trying to match a paint colour on my DeTomaso Pantera which was originally supplied painted at the factory in 1990 with a paint specified as INDUSTRIE VERNICI ITALIANE 167/F (763200)

My local repairer has found a match for the colour which is FIAT BORDEAUX MET but cannot establish the paint mixing formula. I am told the DuPont reference was 9072 FIAT BORDEAUX MET but is now unavailable. Can anyone advise a paint formula and system or another cross reference please?

Appreciate you help

There's a good chance that BASF would have formulated a repair material under the Glasurit line 55 or line 90 systems...

Looks for link.....

Here we go

Here's the actual formula for the water-based version which include the 1990 production date:

If you need the solvent-bourne version or any more help or instructions on how to use the system, let me know!!

Formula for mixing 1 litre of DuPont solvent

AM58 DEEP MAROON 311.8
AM62 TRANSPARENT RED 373.8
AM5 JET BLACK 389.2
AM14 COARSE ALUMINIUM 401.2
AM17 BRIGHT FINE ALUMINUM 411.6
AM72 RED PEARL 417.2
XB155 M.S. BINDER 951.0

There are no alternate shades in the old dupont scheme, which is a bonus smile

Generally - there are exceptions, I can't find your 9072 colour code in Spies Hecker - any local motor factor that supplies paint should be able to come up with a formula in their system if you give them the vehicle make and the colour code - in your case Fiat 9072.
I believe that IVI was taken over by PPG (Google them, main paint supplier/manufacturer in Europe) & DuPont is also part of PPG so wonder if they would be able to help?
A letter after the code is common for Italian car makers - Alfa/Fiat/Lancia - & I can find 167 with various letters, but not F! Also small volume car makers often use colours from the big car makers rather than having paint formulated specially.
Is there an owners club that could help?
