Can't play Forza 3,console needs an update??

Just bought Forza 3 off Ebay for my XBOX 360 and when i put the disc in it says it can't play the game without updating the console,what's that about?

It means you need to download a small update before the game will run.

Important bugfixes and updates to the game, It forces you to install the update because some bugs might influence play on Xbox Live and to make sure everyones running the same version.
