SLK32 AMG Question
Discussion
Had my 32AMG for 2 months now and love it. Getting the small rust problem sorted in a couple of weeks and just fitted the Honda S2000 wind deflector bought off Ebay, thanks SLacKer!
Like the new gear knob, probably will get one of those as well.
My car is 8 years old and I was wondering if there was a way of finding out how much power the engine developed now. I believe it had 354BHP from new, but I would be interested in finding out what it had after 8 years and what needed replacing to bring it back to close to original.
Also is there a way of tightening up the latches on the roof as it sounds like there is a little movement between the roof and the window frame?
Thanks Bill.

with the Brabus yes- went from 75 BHP to 101 ( Stated) and an actual of 98.6 on the dyno. I understand that there is a margin of error of +/- 5% so was probably correct
Have thought about getting the slk dynoed as well but havent got round to it
There are some performance mods for the slk too ( differnt pulleys etc) which will take it up to about 400 bhp. However I find that vwhat I have now is more than enough and would not want to imapct reliability- although saying that the Brabus never missed a beat
DMS will do a remap on the slk and derestrict which will give another 30 BHP but for the cost and the fact I would need to also upgrade the tyres I gave it a miss
Plus round town I am getting approx 17 mpg and about 26 on a longer run - don't want to go much lower than that
Cheers

Thanks for that. Will put the car on a rolling road to see what the output is at the moment.
I agree that the car comes with enough power, just not sure if it has lost some over the years.
Thanks Bill.
Good to get a baseline reading if you want to start modding. There is a wealth of info to tune these on the crossfire forums with a lot of work being done on the SRT in the states which can be applied to the 32. Found a thread of a guy who transplanted a V8 from a CL into his crossfire and it fitted and looks stock, think he had a few issues with the ECU though. I am not sure you will find an equivalent amount of tuning info for the 32 but if you do let us know.I agree that the car comes with enough power, just not sure if it has lost some over the years.
Thanks Bill.
