USB diagnostics

Has anyone had much luck with USB-serial adapters for the dianostics. My old Dell with a proper serial port has just packed in, and I'm wondering whether to try and fix it or to try and get the daig working properly on my new laptop (which doesn't have a serial port).

yes, just need to config the appropriate usb port to com 1 and then do a google search for the PL -2303 usb to serial driver by Prolific technology Inc and install that and it all should work. HTH

Cheers matey. Seems an easier option than repairing this old dinosaur...(plus I'll actually be able to do some live diag, because the battery works!)
