Should be collecting my '97 boxster in the next few days (first Porsche, can't wait!) and was thinking of having a tracker of some sort fitted. Any advice? particularly wrt recommended installer for the Milton Keynes area.

TRACKER are the market leaders in stolen vehicle recovery systems and have to date recovered over 7,000 stolen vehicles worth over £123 million.

Re. an installer in Milton Keynes - GAP Security are an authorised TRACKER reseller (Tel. 01208 821636). Or you can purchase TRACKER direct by calling 0500 090909 and arrange for an installer to come to you.

I got Tracker in my Boxster S - an insurance must. Just to warn you - the Horizon version (full GPS tracking, apparently TRACKER HQ can tell exactly where, how fast and even in what lane the car is during surveillance) can take a full day to fit.

Nice peace of mind. Hopefully you'll never know its fitted. Don't think it adds much resale value, if any, even though the device is usually passed on with the car. Next time I'd probably get the regular one which is lots cheaper...

Have to agree with Don, My Horizon took 1.5 days to fit, although fitting was included in the price, so its just time without the car that's the problem not the fitting cost.
I would get any of the units fitted if possible, subject to your budget, they are all worth the money, and a good investment.

Good Luck with the car.

John.
