118 calling me for updates.

I have just had a call from 118 to my work. They have asked me to confirm our address details and business sector so they can update their records. Call me thick (or similar expletive), but what was the purpose of their call?

Tell them to shove off - not your problem. Would be good to have everything listed correctly, but if you have an entry in the Yellow Pages, then it will find itself on 118 too. An excuse to sell you something. Or a scam - hard to say.

Count yourself lucky they are trying to get your details right, untill a couple of months ago my office phone number had been listed on there as another company, one that recieves about 200 calls a day. It took several complaints before they took it off. The only problem is that several other search engines have taken their listings from 118 so even though 118 have removed it, 20ish other directory websites still have it wrong
