my brother had a matt black Escort van in 1981 he painted himself with rattle cans to cover the P38 filler. It looked very similar.

rofl I found it best to use cans of gloss. I used to manage to get it looking like matt paint as the finish was shyte.

The big problem with wraps is you just can't replicate those paint runs properly. hehe

Yeah but you can take it off if you get fed up with it.

Ah, I know about this. You use a sponge, a bowl of warm water and a 3 inch scraper. I've heard those steamer things work to soften the glue so long as you haven't painted it?

rofl

I must say that when we unwrapped our last car, it came off very well. It did take 8 hours though, including getting all glue residue off the car with meths.

My ex-fiance had a mentalist brother, as in he was only allowed out when it wasnt a full moon. He couldnt drive, never would be medically permitted to either. He was sold a stty old Nova by some enterprising local hoodies but fair play, he would sit there and pretend to drive it which was actually great therapy... until that is he thought he would make it look sporty and painted it black, by hand, with a brush. Now did he choose coach paint? No, he chose gloss. He painted not only the outside in gloss but also the entire inside in gloss. You would pass out on a cold day from fumes but he would spend hours in it during the summer and come back into the house smacked out of his head.

IT was then that it struck me that cars converted to black belonged in Merthyr

my brother did the same with his van. The inside was brush painted with bright blue gloss. There were no seats in the back so I had to slide about and got high on the fumes while my other bother occupied the passenger seat.
