guys i'm almost at the point of ordering my first few stages of my gtr. do any of you have any tips or things to look out for when ordering. Ive met Ted Marlow and he seems a good bloke but are there any 'extras' i should look out for?
Also what is the concensus on the American speed engines, are there any other suppliers i should look at as well. ive seen BritishAmerican, they seem a little more expensive than AS. i wont be going for the engine self rebuild . Any info a great help.

You will probably find cheaper offers but I can confirm that the customer service of American Speed is exceptional. We are in the process of tuning our (orginally AS) engine and I ordered all new parts through AS. Gail from AS was extremely helpful to work out the right specification and he always kept his promises (eg. delivery times, prices). Really got the feeling that they do not want to make money on me, even recommend cheaper parts where appropriate. They also did an excellent porting job on my new heads.
Hope this helps,
Peter

If you intend to build on a dolly (which you should) then you can improve your cash flow by not getting brakes and coilovers until just before you need to get it down from the dolly i.e. just before final engine fit.

The point about the dolly was a very good one. That also saves time and money for not having to buy rims and tyres, and still having the possibility to move it around, doesn't it ?

Good Speed !
