Taping over Number plates

There seems to be a trend that it is the more expensive cars that do this.. People that are worried about their car being photographed on track.
Personally we don't do it on the Caterham, but we do often take the plates off as the front one seems to cause lift at higher speeds and the back one has fallen off before.

I was under the impression that front plates reduced lift on 7 style cars because they reduce airflow underneath....GreigM said:
