hmmm 600 to 700 bhp. In other words they dont know and are estimating.

Could you really put that kind of power on the road in such a light car?

What is it worth? I wouldnt give you much, seems someone has lost sight of what makes a 'liz fast and read to much max muppet.

That is just a tyre shredder.

Looks like normal width 'normal' road tyres on the front, but A048Rs on the rear, and north of 600 bhp, in a car that's weight biased to the rear?

Sounds utterly impossible to control to me. It'll understeer like buggery until the turbo wakes up, at which point it'll snap sideways so fast you'll need to be Walshy on crystal meth to catch it.

Especially if those Ohlins dampers are racked up hard... weight transfer front-to-rear under power will be much quicker and any lack of bravery with the throttle (i.e. don't lift!) will be instantly punished.

Doesn't sound like a pure drag quarter-mile car either with the Quaife diff - I'd have thought if they wanted to make a drag racer out of an Elise then a locking diff would be the way to go?

So... not sure what the hell this car is meant to be, other than a death trap.

Then again, if the engine really is done well, then it'll have a smooth transition from off-boost to on-boost and it'll be drivable... in which case it needs the suspension sorting out, proper tyres front and rear and some sodding enormous brakes - and would be a riot to drive (I'm thinking along the lines of Frank's (ronin) nutter car). Anyone know what this outfit are like at tuning the VAG turbo four-pot? I can't think of much worse than an old-school 400+ bhp Cossie Turbo type power delivery in an Elise... but a modern, well controlled engine would be fun...

Bloody ridiculous amount of power for an Elise, and probably almost unusable.

If I wanted a torque-monster I'd talk to Bernard at Auto-Technix about an Audi Turbo conversion and get the dudes from Pro-Alloy to work their magic...

Is it possible to safely put that much power through a 1.8 engine?
