Just been looking through the classifieds and saw this, looks Ok but says the leathers been replaced with cloth but also has walnurt trim? Is this what M3's came with or as an option?

Walnut was an option. The seats he's fitted are just standard aren't they, not sports?

Look like standard seats to me similar to what you'd find in a 316i - oh well!

As has been mentioned above thats the standard 3-series plain cloth interior.

The M3 which were spec'ed without leather had "M-Cloth" which is quite distinctive.

It is not a real M3...whole interior is incorrect, if you look at the badge it clearly says 318, also the exhaust is aftermarket with a single tail pipe. Finally the badge on the plastic moulding on the doors just says 'M', all M3s were badged M3.
It looks like the owner may have 'dropped' an M3 engine into it to avoid high insurance premiums.

May have just changed the DVLA details to say 3201cc on the certificate.....still does not make it an 'original' M3

A number of car insurance websites, when the vrm is entered, also state that this is a 'real' M3.

Looks like the original interior has been removed for some reason. Now why would someone do that...? scratchchin

If it had a vadar interior (not sure if it was a 4 door), theyre worth a few quid! Especially if your struggling to afford a garage bill or similar...

- confused - they look the same as mine which is guaranteed to be the real thing. The saloons came with the wood trim, & the details above look kosher. However, I wouldn't touch it with someone else's barge-pole: why no engine shots, why was the interior changed, why no airbag, where are the original alloys, the door cards are wrong, & it looks like a heap of hassle to me; shame. I'd guess stolen/rec.

I can see people upgrading their M3 or M5 for sure, maybe a nice new exhaust or some really tasty rims, but getting an M3 and then DOWNGRADING it, well thats a new one on me.
Those old e36 4 doors are cheap as chips anyway.Hang on and get a straight one.
