My wife wants to join the 'designer' world and keeps dropping hints about a Coach handbag for her birthday. Now being a bloke, I haven't got a clue about such matters.

Looked on quite a few websites and seen some good websites. But how do you know they're not fakes?? Does anyone with knowledge of such strange matters have any tips or website links that may assist a desperate man!

I bought my daughter one, in a moment of weakness, in the states, very well made but how fking much? Get a fake if you can it will be out of fashion in a year anyway and unless she knows will be happy

We should all put a £5 in a pot and then buy one of all of these ridiculous things women demand. You could book it for a special date: Birthday, anniversary, Chrimbo.

Keep it for a week while she shows her mates.Mum etc, then once she has carefuly packed it away slip upstairs, package it up return it to the pot.

Mrs thinks she has all the latest desirables, we have all only spent £5. We get endless sexual favours and passouts for beer nights.

The gold and silver ones are more regulary faked. Buy a red one and you should be safe.

Check the chassis plate.

They're ahead of you in the 'States where women can hire designer bags for the night!! Big business seemingly.

Just be glad your wife isn't on the 'Birkin' list, or wants another pair of Louboutin's for Crimbo!

went for an advanced recce with the missus for her xmas present, the chanel handbag she wanted was £2100 - wtf!

settled on a chloe one which was almost reasonable by comparison, think i got done by the "soften him up with something outrageous first" routine frown

Every Christmas/Birthday I've bought one of these bloody things. £800 notes one year. The rabbit ate that one, which was especially galling.

She has the biggest bag in the world - what does she keep in it? Lipstick and a cash card! Mental.

Coach are only 'really well' known in the USA, and as far as I know not sold in the UK at the moment other than at T5. At an average of $398 not that expensive either (at the current rates).

Like others have said be pleased she is not after Chloe, Chanel, LV, Mulberry or Bridge biggrin

As for knowing whether you are buying a fake or not from the internet... Coach only sell their bags in Coach stores, boutiques located within select department stores and specialty retailer locations. So the only place for you to order a genuine one from is Coach themselves smile
