OK,

so we accept from the outset that 99% of Xmas films are a load of tosh, but which ones are your favourites?

Mine:

Scrooged (ace modern day interpretation of Xmas Carol)
Wonderful Life
Miracle on 34th Street (90's version)

Not all strictly Xmas Films but I do love to watch them over the period.

Cool Runnings
Toy Story
Monsters Inc
Elf

And an alternative Xmas film not for the kids....

Not a movie but "Blackadder's Christmas Carol" embodies the true spirit of Christmas for me.

Chevy Chase, Christmas Vacation wasn't bad. Watching it on a hot summer's day with a mate and loads of lager with the curtains drawn to keep the sun out seemed to add to the hilarity. The test cricket was ste see.

And I can certainly tell you what is my least favourite film.
The Sound of fecking Music. My ex had to watch it here, then on RTE, and just in case it was missed, she had a dvd copy as backup.
every. year. without fail. Christmas just isn't the same anymore. smile

I classify a Christmas Film as a film with a Christmas theme - not just one that habitually used to be shown at Christmas.
When I was a kid, I used to love a puppet animation film which starred Burl Ives as a singing snowmnan and featured the abominable snowman. It was on virtually every Christmas from about 1968 to 1975.
