Installing a built-in microwave
Discussion
Does anybody have an experience of retro-fitting a built-in microwave oven? At present we have a cavity in one of our kitchen units for one but are just using a standard microwave which is placed in to the cavity. I thought it would be straight forward enough but these jobs seldom are.
Any experience, tips or recommendations?
Thanks in anticipation

Yes, I've fitted two Siemens built-in microwaves into 500mm wall units.
They suck in and expel a remarkable amount of cooling air, so it's important that you use the fitting kit supplied, and follow the instructions re ventilation. You'll probably need to remove the lower part of the back of the wall unit in this respect too.
Other than that, it's very easy. With Siemens, first you secure the oven into the space - in exactly the right position! - then snap on the facia - but your model may be different.

'Bosch Multitool'
For light duties only, but gets where no other tool can go.

However the blades are expensive.
