Ebay watch purchase.
Discussion
Hi all
Just after a bit of advise I have bought a few watches from ebay myself without any problems by following a few simple rules, like getting things checked against lost and stolen registers, going to see the watch(if possible), possibly meeting at an AD, checking feedback with a fine tooth comb etc etc.
Now to my question, my step-dad is getting my mother a new watch for christmas she has always admired my ebel tawara chrono and says she wants the female version, which hasn't been made for a few years. They have managed to find the one she wants on ebay for around £1k which is about £450 of the rrp. They have spoken to the seller and asked for the serial mumber so they can get it checked out but he has refused to supply it stating cloning being the reason. The seller is in glasgow and my parents in portsmouth so you could't get much further apart if you tried this makes going to see it a bit of a pain.
The seller says that if they find it to be fake he will refund 150% but thats no good if we can't find him or have to rely on paypal in any part.
Just wondered if any of the PH massive had any ideas?
many thanks
