Picked up the Ultima this saturday and made the journey home from Birmingham to Caterham. The choice of day and time was probably the worst judgement in history with torrential wind and rain the entire way home on the M42/M40/M25!!!!

Obviously, having just picked up the car and having soon aquaplaned almost immediately on the motorway - there was not really a chance to see what the car could do but nevertheless the car is simply FANTASTIC!!!! It is a complete joy to drive and I am already blown away by just how beautiful the car looks and feels.

I was surprised that we made 150 miles on just the right tank alone although im sure 100% motorway all the way home and numerous 50mph limits and accidents nurtured that figure somewhat!

One thing personally that IMO would be nice to do is to install a rear view camera - especially as the rear spoiler sits bang slap in the middle of the rear view!

Spent the whole day today cleaning the car and sorting out the paperwork as well as generally standing in the garage simply staring at the car - not quite believing it is sitting in the garage! biggrin

The car is absolutely beautifully built and is an absolute credit to the previous owner who goes by the name of Frank (60mph)

In summary, absolutely ecstatic!!! Well done Frank......!

hahahahhahaha have fun..

ive just fitted a perminent rear view camera to my Ultima with 60 degree camera instead of usual reversing cameras of 112 degrees...works well..

I fitted it ontop of the gear box as i dont have mesh anymore in the rear clip, but you could fit it in the mesh if you wanted to.

I have a display in the roof of the car...

have fun

Peter and John arrived later than planned at 4.00 pm and to my astonishment drove off into the storm at 5.00pm even though they were offered accommodation for the night . Thats how tempting an Ultima is . I ran through all the switches with them in the dark and pouring rain "which did you say was the dip switch" was the last comment I heard !
I'll be back.

Hi Dom, where did you get your 60 degree camera? I could do with replacing my 120 degree one!

Thanks Dom. That's the company I purchased my camera from, but mine is a "bullet"type. I'll have to contact them to see if they do a narrow angle bullet.

not sure if they do narrow angle bullets, but its the best quality one he does... I dont have rear grill(took it off) and have mounted it ontop of gear box near breather tank...The great idea with this is its high, not body vibration and doesnt get dirty when in the rain(ever noticed how dirty your car gets at teh rear end??)
