My insurance company have offerred me a Zasker to replace my stolen Cube Ltd Team. Amazing difference in rrp as they failed to find a Cube despite me telling them where to get one!

I know very little about the GT, are they any good for techy single track in the woods (not too rough) and the odd bit of cross country treking, or would I be better seeing if I can swap it for another Cube?

depends whether you really liked the cube to be honest, i think the zaskar expert is a great bike on paper in terms of spec. its always been a well regarded bike since its inception in the year dot.

if you feel like a change which isnt a total shot in the dark, go for it. if however, you felt like riding the cube was a life changing experience, stick with it. personally i'd go with the GT... but then i dont get Cube's and dont like the geometry (and the short top tubes in particular)

When I got into biking in the early 90s. I soo wanted a Zaskar. Finally 12 years later. I got myself my Zaskar Expert. Even now 6 years on I still think it's the best bike I've owned. I love looking down at the litle sticker by the BB that says "Coupe du mond - Race edition" Simple things eh?

I recently looked at the current Carbon version. Very cool!

Ahh...the GT Zaskar. I coveted this tough-as-old-boots bike in the early nineties; never did get one, but they're lovely machines.

Wow post from the past!

Loved the look of the GT but ultimately ended up with Rockhopper SL Pro and am very happy with it.
