The Murci doesn't strike me as a nimble mid engined car for windy alpine roads; the Gallardo is presumably the tool for that. But neither does it strike me as a comfortable GT cruiser. So what is it supposed to be in real life? Most Ferraris fall into a logical use bucket but am struggling here.

Is it just for show?

Anyone?

They're nuts. And thats why people love them.

They are supercars, there does not need to b a logical use.

Don't get me wrong, I love the car and may get one some day, but it's a serious question.

I suppose it falls alongside the zonda/cgt etc which don't aim for a traditional raison d'detre.

I disagree completely.

The Murcielago is a machine that on the face of it looks totally unusable in modern traffic and on modern road, but trust me, it is one of the most devastating A-B weapons ever built.

It is a car that you have to slowly build up to, learn how it works, trust it, and then learn how to use it.
A Murcielago with E-Gear is quite simply stunning, as it is set up for left foot braking, and can be hustled with confidence once you learn how the 4 wheel drive system first shows you understeer, then allows you to push through this to manipulate the power and chassis so that it becomes 'like a big Skyline.'
Not my words, but the words of Valentino Balboni, who introduced me to the talents of this car, and gave me the confidence to explore it.

The four fly by wire throttle bodies react with such effect that when called upon, there is no hesitation, just controlled acceleration that you can utilise to the fullest effect in complete safety.

And all of this is before we talk about the stunning SV, which just takes it onto a new level.

And before you ask, I used to do about 300 test miles a week in various Lamborghinis, and would have no hesitation in demonstrating exactly what I mean.

I love the car with a passion, and have been lucky enough to had the opportunity to compare it to MC-12, Enzo, Carrera GT, Koenigsegg, SLR, Zonda and Bugatti, and rate the big Lambo as the one that gives me the most confidence.

Of course all of this is my subjective view, and others no doubt will disagree, but everyone who has sat beside me when I've done my thing has been left speachless.
