So that's why Duffus Dip is no longer called Duffus Dip.
Thoughts go out to the victims.
Think it's more for sponsorship reasons than anything else. All the staff call it duffis dip when not away from the mic/cameras!Thoughts go out to the victims.
One gets 6 years in jail and the other (who has previous for the same offence) gets community service.
Mmmmmmm..........
However, it is a good prompt for all of us that may, from time to time, indulge in a bit of road rage, road duelling. You know the sort of thing - someone cuts you up, you flash the lights etc etc.and before you know it you are bumper to bumper flying along the road.
This one resulted in tragic consequences for the deceased and her family, and no doubt, life changing for the man sent to jail.

The temptation to give it a bootful and leave them standing is always there when someone in a 'Halfords Special' appears behind you, obviously goading for a race.
Can't read too much into this as he could still have been driving like a complete prat beforehand, but it sounds from the BBC article that Duffus was actually braking into a 30 limit which the Corsa missed and lost control whilst panic braking. What stories like that make you think twice about, is that the driver, or car, behind is not always up to the task - and if they stack it into an innocent bystander whilst trying to keep up with you, you can be implicated!
It's not beyond the realm of possibility for this to happen even without 'racing' being involved - I'm sure there are plenty of drivers in tasty machinery who could keep a quick, safe pace rather effortlessly, whilst the idiot in the unroadworthy banger behind is driving the tits off it and taking all sorts of risks.
I suppose I'm saying that to some people, getting one over on the flash car in front is like a red rag to a bull, and you'd be well advised to steer clear of anyone who decides to join in at all costs whilst you're on a hoon....
