I suppose it depends if you have any control over it and how strongly you feel, and if it is something that is directly affecting you at a particular point.

For instance ,if people want to smoke, fine - its up to them but I dont let people smoke in my house or car.

Should we tolerate creationists spreading lies? (if you are going to say they are not lies shut-up and tolerate what I am saying in silence!).

On a serious note:

Surely most things we do affect someone in some way - e.g. say I would like to be free to wear a T-shirt that reads "What's up m'******?" (but replace the asterisks with untolerated N word) not because it is offensive but because I find it funny in the same way that the RAF sketches by Armstrong and Miller are funny - more a case of the joke is on me cos I is a honky @ss mutha fuka and and can't dance.
So I can't wear the T-shirt - it is not socially tolerated which means I am tolerating the racists (I can't wear the T-shirt because of my skin colour).

Perhaps we should instead say, if you are offended, too bad, tolerate it. I can after all claim that anything offends me - you want to put your Synagogue/Mosque/Church/Nuclear Reactor/Bio-weapons/Strip joint/Casino/Abortion Clinic building at the end of my Road - I am offended!!
Err - I don't mean all that stuff happens in one building!
On the other hand isn't offense a type of mental cruelty? - mother of god this is a tricky one for a Monday evening!!!!!!!

I think I'm quite tolerant but sometimes if I am too tolerant people notice and they can take advantage of it a bit. So you need to be a prick sometimes. It's getting that balance right isn't it?

Well there are alot of people who think that a zero-tolerance attitude makes them uncompromising, tough, manly and admirable.

In actual fact, they simply lack social skills. (like people who say "I dont regret anything, me." - that's not big or clever, thats simply a failure to accept you've made mistakes)

Of course there are some things that cause harm that shouldnt be tolerated. For everything else, save your energy*.

I'd like to think I'd tolerate any activity that doesnt cause harm to anybody not participating, but I do find religion very hard to tolerate under certain circumstances... e.g. Muslims (not all of them!) that would look down on you for eating pork, or don't want you to eat during ramadan etc.
